Mrs. Oehldrich
I am excited to be working with you this year as teaching partners to help your child grow and learn! This will be my 8th year teaching at Jackson, and my 3rd in fourth grade. I have four energetic young girls who I adore. I love to read, spend time outside with my family, and go camping.

Homework
The education of your children is truly a partnership between home and school. Homework is an important part of this partnership and the educational process. I design our homework as an extension of the work that is done in the classroom, and it serves as additional practice for students.

Planners
Planners are a great way to help keep students organized. The students are responsible to fill out their planners at the end of every day. The parents are to sign the planner when the student has all of the homework completed. If homework is not completed or the planner is not signed, the student will lose game time that day for not being responsible. Planners are also an excellent way to communicate between parents and teachers. Please feel free to leave a note for me in them!

Absences
When your child is absent from school, you need to inform the office. At that time you can also request missing work. Otherwise, it is your child’s responsibility to get his or her missing work.

Snacks & Water
Since lunch is so early we will have a snack time in the afternoon. Healthy snacks such as fruit, cheese, yogurt, pretzels, pudding and raisins are encouraged. Please do not send soda, candy or chips. If a spoon is needed for the snack it is the student's responsibility to bring one. Students may keep a small water bottle for water at their desks. Please make sure that they have caps that seal completely. They need to be disposed of or taken home and cleaned regularly.

Math
The most important thing for your child to be successful this year will be to know the multiplication facts. We will be learning multiple digit multiplication, long division, and fractions; all of which need multiplication facts! If your child is not fluent in them please help your child work on them!! There are flashcards, internet games, and apps all available for little money or free that can be very helpful.
